🛳️ Shipwrecks
Let’s start with the local rockstar. Shipwrecks is a punchy, right-hand reef break that can turn on fast. With glassy barrels on a good swell and clear water beneath, it’s a dream when the tide and winds line up. That said – it’s not exactly a learner-friendly playground. Intermediate to advanced surfers will have the most fun here (and the fewest reef scrapes).
Paddle out with confidence, and don’t be surprised if you leave with a new scar and a great story.
🌴 Playgrounds
If Shipwrecks is the older brother with something to prove, Playgrounds is the chill younger sibling. It’s a split peak offering both a mellow left and a forgiving right, and it’s perfect for longboarders or anyone easing their way off the beach breaks.
Bonus: you can spot the whole break from the floating bar nearby. So if your partner doesn’t surf, they can sip a cold drink while pretending they know what a bottom turn is. Everyone wins.
⚠️ Lacerations
This one comes with a warning sign – and not just because of the name. Lacerations is a shallow, heavy reef break that delivers some of the heaviest barrels on the island. It’s for advanced surfers only – the kind who carry reef booties and aren’t afraid of getting intimate with the coral.
On its day, it’s epic. On a wrong takeoff, it’s... well, let’s just say you’ll be eating nasi goreng in bed for a few days.

Early mornings are the magic window – think glassy lines, light offshore winds, and fewer people in the water. Mid to high tide works best for most breaks, though sunset surfs can be beautiful too if the winds stay down.
